While living in this ‘clean
and well-lighted’
house in Hampstead, Keats fell in love with his
neighbour, Fanny Brawne. His exquisite
“Ode
to a Nightingale”
may have been written in the garden. Through
readings and a private lecture in the
newly-refurbished house, we explore Keats’
relationships with the art he loved, ranging
from Greek pots to Claude Lorraine, and his
relationships with other Hampstead
intelligentsia.
